These are from a series of views found in Lovell Reeves/Jephson's book a Walking Tour in Brittany, 1859. There were three editions of the book. One with no photos, but you could purchase a box set of 90 stereoviews to go with it. One with just one tipped in stereo and the last with 90 tipped in half stereos. These are quite scarce views. Please ignore any pinkish tones in the photos as they are not there, but from my scanner.
These stereos were all taken in the late 1850's. They are for the most part a real cut above the views of Paris you normally come across from the 1870's etc.
A collection of 15 stereos by a Mr. Thomas Simson in 1864. These are unique and professionally done. I can find nothing about this chap but they are very nice and all in excellent condition. There are 12 unique stereos and three duplicates. Each is annotated on the back as to where and what. 13 are signed by the photographer on the back. Please ignore any pinkish tones in the photos as they are not there, but from my scanner.
This will eventually be one of the biggest stereo categories, as I have lots of nice early views. Please ignore any pinkish tones in the photos as they are not there, but from my scanner.
Some great Crystal Palace here. Many more to come of other great expos. Please ignore any pinkish tones in the photos as they are not there, but from my scanner.
A series of 17 views by the scarce photographer C.H. Jacobi of Coblenz. All are of Strassburg ands show the ruins, german soldiers, etc. They are for sale as a lot. All in EX condition.
I have recently added about 200 new views. There may also be a few of Austria in here of the Tyrol, but those views are classed as "Ansichten von Deutschland". I would suggest using my search engine as there is no specific order. More Germany in the Markets category.
I am starting this category with some very scarce Ferrier & Soulier 3 plate tinted stereos. The negs date from 1864. I have not categorized them as to country, but take your time and you will find many rare and beautiful views here.
Some great views to start, from a flood in Lewisburg, early views in Williamsport and area, a series of Canton of the photographers family and friends.
